If you can answer these 4 questions before you step on stage— then you are setting yourself to be a WINNER!🥇

It seems that Fitness (over the past few years)– competitions in particular — have taken over!

It’s getting more mainstream. You’re probably seeing “fitspo” accounts all over instagram and Facebook, and bigger and better competitors up on that stage! It’s intimidating.

Not only that, people with stunning transformations have been utilizing contest prep to achieve amazing before & after results!

You may ask yourself, “Can I do that??

I’m here to tell you — Don’t let the over-saturation intimidate you!

Your fitness journey is YOURS and you should prepare yourself to make the most of it!

We all want to win right? 🥇👌🏽(I’m sure you might be nodding in agreement…)

But let me back up for a second here.

( Scenario ) Let’s stay you embark on an incredible journey to your first bikini competition. You train hard and diet even harder for 8-12 weeks.

You get up on stage and showcase the 8% bodyfat you lost, abs popping and a captivating stage presence that not a single person in the  audience can ignore!

You end up in the first call out (it’s looking like a top 5 finish. YES!!)

…And you land 4th place.

Did you fail? Did those 12 weeks mean nothing?!

I know this story very, very well. Because it was ME😊💁🏽

While a trophy is a great reminder of your accomplishment, by no means does it DEFINE what you’ve achieved, what you’ve endured, and your entire process.

Wow! I digress!

So – by now you may be asking – Rachelle. Get to the point…  how do I SUCCEED?

You succeed by doing the preparation ahead of time. It’s not just meal prep and a good training split.

It’s also knowing about the federation you are going to compete in, what to expect on stage day, and what the judges are looking for in your specific division/class!

When I work with my posing clients and teammates one-on-one I make sure they these have 4 questions answered:

  1. What are the suit requirements (follow the rules or you may be docked on points!)
  2. What are the commands (required posing, required line-up) that the judges will say on stage?
  3. Through non-verbal communication ONLY – what do you want the judges to learn about you while you present on stage? (Choose 3 adjectives).
  4. What is your WHY? Have a deep rooted passion before you start this challenging journey so you can dig deep and remember it when times get tough!

If you can answer these questions wholeheartedly then you are setting yourself up for success and on the right track.

  1. The next time I read a blog, I hope that it doesnt disappoint me as much as this one. I mean, I know it was my choice to read, but I actually thought youd have something interesting to say. All I hear is a bunch of whining about something that you could fix if you werent too busy looking for attention.

    1. Hi Laureen – is this your alias btw (Your comment shares that your blog is actually by Patrick Daniel) – not sure which article you read and where the complaints are, but there’s always gotta be a Negative Nancy! Haha! Thank you for your criticism about an article I’m not actually sure you read. Thankfully, I have gotten nothing but positive feedback about the Fitness Comp Guide.

I wish you the MERRIEST of Holidays and a Happy (much happier) New year! xo – Rachelle
